SOCCER TRYOUTS: A Palo Alto under-16 girls Class I soccer team is seeking a few skilled and dedicated players born after July 31, 1982. The team is coached by Rob Kusel. The season starts in the fall. For more information, call 858-8544 or 725-9343.

EAGLE SUPPORTERS: The Los Altos High School Athletic Boosters will hold their fourth annual Oktoberfest dinner and auction from 6-11 p.m. Sept. 26. Dinner costs $35 per person and will be held at the home of Sue and John Sullivan. Proceeds go to Los Altos High athletics for uniforms, awards and more. For more information, call 941-2322.

SWIMMERS WANTED: The Los Altos-Mountain View Aquatic Club is looking for new members from ages 6-22. The club provides training in competitive swimming at Eagle Pool in Mountain View and Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Tryouts will be held from 5-6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Eagle Park on the corner of Shoreline Boulevard and Church Street. Coaches and parents will be available to answer questions. MORE SWIMMING: The Peninsula-based SOLO Swim Club will be enrolling new members at 4 p.m. Friday at Burgess Pool in Menlo Park. SOLO is a year-round swim team for those ages 5-18. The club welcomes swimmers of all abilities. Fall workouts begin Monday. For more information, call 851-9091.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Northern California Women's Corporate Open will be held Sept. 25 at Shoreline Golf Links in Mountain View. The 18-hole event is for amateur women golfers and will include a "Corporate Cup" competition for teams representing companies and businesses across Northern California.
