Fall-winter Morning Forum lecture series begins Tuesday

The membership-only Los Altos Morning Forum lecture series kicks off its eight-lecture program for fall and winter 1998-99 next Tuesday at the Los Altos United Methodist Church, Foothill Expressway and Magdalena Avenue, Los Altos.

The first lecture features White House correspondent Karen Breslau, speaking on "How Will History Judge the Clinton White House?" Additional parking is available at First Baptist Church of Los Altos, but not near church offices. Other lectures include:

Oct. 6: Gerald Uelmen, Santa Clara University professor, speaking on "The Grand Jury System: Does It Work?";

Oct. 20: Rev. Cecil Williams, minister of liberation, Gide Memorial United Methodist Church, on "The Courage to Live Without Fear";

Jan. 5, 1999: Judge Abraham Sofaer, Hoover Institution, on "The Threat of International Terrorism: A Search for Answers";

All lectures are scheduled for 10:15 a.m., with the exception of Breslau's lecture, which is set for 1 p.m. For information on membership, call 948-5937.
