For the first time, a cooking demonstration tent will feature local chefs cooking their restaurant specialties. The festival will feature Narsai David, KCBS radio food and wine editor on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. David is a columnist for numerous publications and has been resident chef on KTVU's "Mornings on 2" program. The cooking tent will be situated on the parking plaza at Second Street next to the Los Altos Coffee Shop. The tent will seat approximately 50 people with additional seating and tables outside the three open sides of the tent. Cooking demonstrations will start Saturday at 11 a.m. and feature Lawrence Chu from Chef Chu's restaurant. Jocco's owner and chef, Jamie Carpenter, will operate from his cooktop island at 12:30 p.m. and Monique Corne of i Fratelli will feature pastas at 2 p.m. Lawrence Cavagnaro, Maltby's chef, will close the cooking program for the day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday will feature Bay Area cooking personalities with John Bentley heating the cooktop at 11 a.m. and Narsai David at 12:30 p.m. Dan Gordon and Mark Stark of Gordon Biersch will cook at 2 p.m. and Patrick Clark from Santa Barbara Grill in Cupertino is featured at 3:30 p.m. For more information on the festival cooking program, call 948-1455. |
