Oak Canyon School, a new middle school in Palo Alto, will be hosting open houses from 10:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 17 and Nov. 7 in Classroom 7, 1985 Louis Road in Palo Alto.
Oak opened with one fifth/sixth-grade class this fall and plans to grow by one grade each year until it serves through grade eight. Each class is limited to 14 students. The school program provides individually paced, enriched curriculum in a highly structured environment, with a strong emphasis on technology and hands-on activities.

Homecoming parade to be held downtown
Los Altos High School will hold its annual homecoming parade at 1 p.m. this Friday in downtown Los Altos. The event will feature the homecoming court.
