Town Crier Staff Report

Freshman Melina Anima scored seven goals, but the Foothill College women's water polo team needed the courageous help of veteran Heather Fields to beat Ohlone 12-11 last week.

A bout with the flu kept Fields on the bench in the first half of the Oct. 6 game in Fremont, but she took over at goalie in the third quarter. By the fourth, the weary Owls needed her in the field and she came through by shutting down Ohlone's fast break.

Also helping Foothill's cause was Mountain View High grad Amie Prichard, who racked up three goals.

The win improved the Owls' record to 5-0 on the season.

The Foothill football team suffered its first defeat of the season last Saturday, falling at Fresno City 34-27 in overtime.

The Owls (4-1) have a bye this week and then play at San Jose City at 7 p.m. Oct. 24.
