Seatings are offered at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. The buffet dinner menu includes: Peking duck, Roger's walnut prawns, Golden Wok chicken salad, crab rangoon and lemon chicken. The cost is $16, half of which will be donated to the Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. Golden Wok is located on 859 Villa St. Picasso and the War Years Kathleen Jenkins, a Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco docent, will review 80 of Picasso's most powerful works at 7:30 tonight, at the Los Altos Library. Picasso's works are on view at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco through Jan. 3. Jenkins will review the exhibit and the political implications of Picasso's artistic response accomplished between the Spanish Civil War and World War II. For more information, call 948-8710. Halloween window painting contest The city of Los Altos, in cooperation with the Los Altos Village Association, will host the 35th annual Halloween window painting contest this Thursday through Saturday in downtown Los Altos. The event is open to students in fourth through eighth grades who live in Los Altos or attend a school in Los Altos. For more information, call 941-0950. C.A.R. luncheon set for Saturday The seventh annual C.A.R (Community Association for Rehabilitation Inc.) luncheon will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, at Hyatt Rickeys in Palo Alto. The emcee will be Los Altos writer Mary Jane Moffat. Books will be available for sale and autographing both before and after lunch. The authors are dynamic speakers who share anecdotes and read excerpts from their works. Proceeds will benefit C.A.R. Each year the association serves more than 2,200 individuals and their families with disabilities. Tickets are $60. For more information, call 812-2826. Rhododendron Society to meet The De Anza chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will meet 7:30 tonight at 1991 Deodora Drive., in Los Altos. Henning to emcee hit parade night The second annual Hit Parade Night, scheduled for Nov. 14 at the Los Altos Youth Center, will feature Dick Henning as master of ceremonies. Henning, founder of the Foothill College Celebrity Forum, was himself feted last Saturday night for his 30 years as head of the award winning speaker series. Hit Parade Night is an nostalgic evening of singing and dancing presented by the Los Altos Town Choir, a chorus of local volunteer singers. This year's program includes a patriotic salute to Veteran's Day and hits from 1948. The event is sponsored as a fund-raiser for History House and the Los Altos Rotary 50th Anniversary Fund.
