1948 Hit Parade concert scheduled for Nov. 14

If you remember "I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover," then you'll enjoy the songs of the 1948 Hit Parade, featuring the Los Altos Town Choir and sounds of the Big Bands from that era.

** missed drop char **The "Musical Memories Concert" starts at 8 p.m., Nov. 14, at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road. Dancing starts at 9:45 p.m.

The evening doubles as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Los Altos Rotary Club, and Veterans Day salute.

David Stein, choir master at the Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos, will direct the Town Choir. Former Foothill College Dean Dick Henning will be master of ceremonies for the evening. Prior to the concert, anyone wishing to tour the Los Altos History House Museum nearby will receive a docent tour.

Cost is $35 a person. After Nov. 7, the cost is $40. In addition to singing and dancing, free wine, soft drinks, candy corn and a slice of the Rotary birthday cake will be available.

Proceeds benefit the Los Altos History House Museum and the Los Altos Rotary Club's 50th anniversary fund.

The evening is sponsored by the Bank of Los Altos, Linden Tree Children's Records and Books, Los Altos Village Association and the Los Altos Town Crier.
