Chefs Who Care at Golden Wok

The Golden Wok of Mountain View will host the next Chefs Who Care dinner buffet on Nov. 2. Seatings are offered at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The buffet dinner menu includes: Peking duck, Roger's walnut prawns, Golden Wok chicken salad, crab rangoon, lemon chicken, homemade Chinese pasta, stir-fried string beans and house chow mein.

For reservations, call 941-4237, ext. 9450. Leave a name, number of party members, and preferred seating time.

The cost is $16, half of which will be donated to the Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. Golden Wok is located on 859 Villa St.

Children's Home Society fund-raiser Nov. 6

The Los Altos Hills Chapter of the Children's Home Society presents a holiday and fashion show preview by the Prestige of Palo Alto at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 6, at the Sheraton Inn in Palo Alto.

A no-host cocktails hour starts at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. Price is $50. For more information, call 948-8576.

Mediation program basic training course

The Los Altos Mediation Program is offering a 25-hour basic mediation training course. The training deals with conflicts related to neighbors, tenants, small claims and employment disputes. The program will be held Friday and Saturday at Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave.

Harvest festival at Union Presbyterian

Union Presbyterian Church member invite the public to a Harvest Festival 4:30-6:45 p.m., this Saturday, at the church, 858 University Ave., Los Altos.

The event will include carnival games, Magic Mike performing his illusions and a costume parade.

New art exhibit in Los Altos Hills

Local artists Jean Struthers (paintings) and Faith Duhring (ceramics) will exhibit works at the Los Altos Hills Town Hall beginning Nov. 8 and running through Dec. 31.

A reception for the artists will be held 2-4 p.m., Nov. 8, at Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road.

Historic mural in Clarke's new room

The banquet room in Clarke's Charcoal Broiler in Rancho Shopping Center will open for the holiday season.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, artist Jamy Kays will paint a three-wall mural of early Los Altos in the 1940s and 1950s in the new banquet room. The public is invited to watch.
