Locals nominated

Gunn High's Thom Allen and Callie Withers are among 11,000 seniors nominated for Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The Heisman program was created in 1994 when Wendy's restaurant chain teamed up with the Downtown Athletic Club - home of the Heisman Trophy - and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The awards honor the top scholar-citizen-athletes in the nation. Allen runs cross country and track at Gunn. Withers, a Los Altos Hills resident, is a standout on the girls soccer team.
