Lacrosse anyone?

The Tomahawks Lacrosse Club will hold an information and registration night from 7-9 p.m. today at Jordan Middle School, Room C3, 750 N. California Ave., Palo Alto. Kids in grades 4-12 are eligible to play and experience is not necessary. For more information, call 941-5270.

Another pool opens

St. Francis High isn't the only Peninsula school to open a new pool in recent weeks. The Sacred Heart Aquatic Center in Atherton officially opened Nov. 8. Sacred Heart Prep claims the center boasts the only Olympic-size pool in San Mateo County. Randy Whitchurch, former women's water polo coach at Foothill College, is the director of the new center.

Mtn. View Racewalk

The Fifty-Plus Fitness Association hosts a free weekly racewalk that starts at 8:45 a.m. every Sunday at Shoreline Park in Mountain View. Participants should meet by 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Shoreline Boathouse. For more information, call Jack Graf at 948-8146.

Local bike rides
