The show starts at 1 p.m. Monday: 1 p.m., Lorraine Larson, an insurance counselor for HiCap will talk about HMOs and Medicare, and plans for the future. Monday: Trip to Christmas in the Park in San Jose, with dinner to follow. Cost is $10 per person. Departure time is 4:30 p.m. Trip is limited to 30 people. Dec. 9: 1 p.m., a discussion on emergency preparedness is scheduled. Dec. 11: 1 p.m., birthday bingo, featuring cake, ice cream, music and bingo for those with birthdays during the month of December. Dec. 18: Noon, annual holiday luncheon, featuring turkey with all the trimmings. Luncheon limited to 100 people. Cost is $4 with an activity card, $6 without. The Cupertino Choraliers will perform a holiday program at 12:45 p.m. Note: The senior center will close on Dec. 18 and reopen on Jan. 4. Mountain View Senior Center The Los Altos Senior Center is located in the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave., in Los Altos. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Following is a list of special events for the month. Sunday: Tom Palmer will perform acoustic guitar and harmonica music 2-3 p.m. Admission is $1. Refreshments will be included. Tuesday: Orientation and tour of the senior center is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. The tour includes an overview of classes, upcoming events, social services and general information. Dec. 13: A holiday dance is scheduled from 2-4 p.m., featuring the Bigger Than Life Band Admission is $3 and includes refreshments. Dec. 16: A holiday reception, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., includes the music of Bob Jensen singing favorite holiday tunes. A sing-along and dancing will be included, along with refreshments. Admission is free and family members are welcome. Dec. 20: A video Sunday, featuring "The Santa Clause" starring Tim Allen, beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is 50 cents and includes a light refreshment. Dec. 31: A New Year's Eve Day celebration is scheduled from 1-3 p.m., featuring dance music by The New Stardusters. Tickets are $5 per person. |
