This successful passage reflects our community's pride and support of public education, and investment in educational facilities for the children in the Los Altos School District. Special thanks goes to Nanette Freedland and Tania Granoff for agreeing to chair the campaign for Measure H. They spent hundreds of hours providing leadership and organizing volunteers. Thank you to their families for loaning them to the campaign for the past four months. I thank each and every one of the dedicated volunteers who hand-addressed and stuffed envelopes, phoned voters, and walked precincts to educate our community regarding the need for Measure H. Thank you also to the many people who financially supported the campaign. The success of this campaign depended on more than 500 volunteers who spoke to more than 10,000 registered voters about public education and the facility needs of our district. I'd also like to thank our school administrators, teachers, and other staff members who took their personal time and dollars to support the campaign. This is just another indication of the level of dedication to the Los Altos School District. And again, thank you to the community who voted yes on Measure H. The school board promises to spend the money wisely. It is with great pride that I serve on the Los Altos School Board. Terri Sachs President Board of Trustees Los Altos School District |
