Key players named to Millennium Celebration committee

The executive committee for the Los Altos Main Street Millennium Celebration was expanded to 11 members last week, including former Los Altos Hills Councilman Sid Hubbard. He joins Los Altos Councilman John Moss and nine other community representatives.

"This is a great idea and a worthwhile event that both cities can share," Hubbard said. "It's a nice event where both cities can appreciate a bit of their history and have something for the future."

Hubbard brings management experience to the committee with his volunteering efforts in expanding the YMCA operations on the Peninsula and his years of experience in the Los Altos Hills County Fire District.

Moss was elected to the Los Altos City Council in 1996 and is scheduled to be mayor for the year 2000. He has extensive experience in corporate life and has been on the Millennium Committee since last January.

The committee is planning an elaborate celebration for Dec. 31, 1999, in downtown Los Altos that will include music and myriad activities.
