The Mountain View Public Library has recently upgraded its computer system with new services, accessible to patrons through computers at home, at the office, or within the Library itself.

Library officials said patrons can now check personal records on the Web-based catalog to view items currently on loan, renew library materials online, place holds on items, receive notification by phone or e-mail of overdue items and items placed on hold, and provide suggestions and feedback electronically to the library.

All of the service enhancements are designed to allow greater convenience for patrons by providing 24-hour access to the library catalog and patron records. Traditional, in-person services will also continue to be provided by staff.

"These new electronic services provide an overlay of self-help and expedience to the more traditional services the Library already provides. And now, with a wider range of services, the Library can serve as an even greater resource to the community," said Library Services Director Susan Ozubko.
