Town Crier Staff Report

A noontime robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from a downtown Los Altos bank on Dec. 16.

A mid-20s male came into Great Western Bank on Main Street and presented a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied. The robber then left on foot, through the Plaza-side exit, said Sgt. Mark Macaulay with the Los Altos Police Department.

He described the man as "Hispanic, medium build, dark hair and wearing casual clothing."

Police talked with merchants in the area and people who were walking around.

"No one saw anything," Macaulay said. If anyone has information, call Detective Chris Fowlie at the Los Altos Police Department at 948-8223.
