Gary Wheeler, currently manager of the Coldwell Banker/Cornish & Carey office in Los Altos, has been appointed the new vice-president manager of Alain Pinel Realtor's Los Altos office. "Gary was clearly our top choice for taking over the Los Altos office," said Carol Rodoni, president and chief operating officer of Alain Pinel Realtors. "He has been a strong manager for Fox & Carskadon, Cornish & Carey and Coldwell Banker and has the professionalism and experience necessary to continue the success Brett brought to that office." "My primary reason for leaving was family. I saw that in another 10 years my kids would be grown and off to college, and I wanted to be able to spend more time with my family," Thomas said. He has two children who attend Bullis elementary school in Los Altos Hills. Thomas plans to open up a company that specializes in the acquisition and management of apartment properties. "I've been purchasing and managing rental investments since 1987 in San Diego, Los Angeles and Mountain View, and my real estate and property management background should assist apartment owners in property management as well as future apartment investments," Thomas said. "Brett's departure and Gary's arrival are sure to make news in the local real estate community," Rodini said. "Brett has been successful at recruiting top professionals to the Los Altos office and has just finished an expansion which will allow the office to add several additional associates." Thomas said he couldn't think of anyone better to continue the success of Alain Pinel than Gary Wheeler. In choosing a career change, Thomas is leaving after the Los Altos office has grown to more than 60 agents and $400 million in sales in 1998. He will stay with the company through June to help with the transition. |
