The Red Pepper restaurant will kick off a fundraising series this Monday night that will help raise money for the construction of the new Los Altos High School pool by donating a portion of its proceeds to the Los Altos High School Athletic Facilities Fund.

The new pool, 25 yards by 30 meters, will cost about $750,000 including construction and other extras. The Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District has already given $500,000 to the project and could add another $101,000 from its 1995 school bond. Organizers hope to raise the additional $150,000 before the pool's completion this fall.

Los Altos restaurants Chef Chu's, Armadillo Willy's and Mac's American Grill are scheduled to participate in upcoming "Monday Night Profit-Sharing" dinners.

The Red Pepper is located at 4125 El Camino Way in Palo Alto and 2310 Homestead Road (Foothill Plaza Shopping Center) in Los Altos. For more information about the Red Pepper, call 493-7093.
