Open Mike Poetry Reading for teens will be held at the Los Altos Library Community Room at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday. Teens in grades seven to 12 are welcome to read their own poems or one by a favorite author. For more information, call Larry Condit, the librarian for young adults, at 948-7048.

The Friends of the Los Altos Library will hold a used book sale at the Hillview Community Center on the weekend of Jan. 22-24. Hours are 7-9 p.m. Jan. 22, members only; 10 a.m. -3 p.m. Jan. 23; and 12-3 p.m. Jan. 24. On Jan. 24 books will be sold by the bag. Cash only, no checks.
