Tokuda, KRON Channel 4 newscaster, will be presenting her new children's book, "Samson The Hot Tub Bear," at 10:45 a.m. Cookies and drinks will be available to parents and children. There is no charge for this event. Tokuda's book is a true story about an injured bear who is saved by children. Moments before he is slated to die, he is rescued and, through the generosity of children from all over the state, finds a home in the Orange County Zoo. Tokuda wrote the book after having reported the story for KRON-TV. After a slide presentation, Tokuda will sign books. The second event is an author's luncheon for adults at 12:15 p.m., featuring Diane Middlebrook, Adam Hochschild, Francisco Jimenez and Lois Levine. The luncheon is a benefit for AAUW's educational foundation, which offers annual awards to graduate women around the world. All authors will be available for book signings before and after the luncheon. Cost for the luncheon is $25, and the meal will be catered by Chef Chu's of Los Altos. For reservations, call 917-8027. The authors' books are available at Heintzelman's Bookstore, 205 State St., and Linden Tree Children's Records and Books, 170 State St., Los Altos. |
