Jan. 5, 9:38 a.m., a caller from Los Altos High School reported some tools stolen from a job site at the school.

Suspicious circumstances

Jan. 5, 10:38 a.m.: A woman reported that her son has been stopped "numerous times" on his way home from school by a woman asking the boy's help in finding a lost dog.

Vandalism

Jan. 6, 6:48 a.m., 1400 block of Ranchita Drive: Mailboxes were knocked over at three homes.

Malicious mischief

Jan. 6, 6:42 p.m., Foothill Expressway and Grant Road: Police reported a traffic dispute between a bicyclist and a vehicle driver. The driver said the bicyclist struck and dented her vehicle.

Assaults

Thursday, 1:43 p.m., Los Altos High School: A female who was not a student came onto campus and slapped a male who is a student. Officials told her to not return, police said.

Thursday, 6:57 p.m., a caller said his brother threw him against a wall. Police said both had been drinking.

Shoplifting

Friday, 1:32 p.m., 100 block of First Street: Police said a purse was reported taken from the Safeway store.

Sewage backup

Friday, 11:32 a.m., 100 block of State Street: Police said sewage/grease was reported coming from a clean-out into the street.

Missing handguns

Friday, 2:01 p.m., 2200 block of Sierra Ventura Drive: A caller reported missing handguns with the housekeeper a possible suspect.

Domestic violence

Friday, 8:33 p.m.: A party came to the police department to report a domestic violence incident the day before.
