The Lancers (3-2-0 league, 10-2-1 overall) tied host Serra Saturday and beat visiting St. Ignatius 4-0 Thursday, powered by Dan Vukosa's two goals. Los Altos (3-0-1, 7-1-1) picked up two wins and a tie last week in SCVAL De Anza Division play. The host Eagles edged Milpitas 1-0 Jan. 5, tied visiting Palo Alto 1-1 Thursday and won 6-1 at Monta Vista Saturday. Leonardo Vigil and Sean Whalen scored against Milpitas and Paly, respectively, while Arend Accola and Andreas Riter led Los Altos with two goals apiece against Monta Vista. Mountain View (1-1-2, 3-7-3) recorded a loss and a tie last week in two SCVAL El Camino Division games. The Spartans fell 1-0 at Wilcox Jan. 5 and tied visiting Cupertino 3-3 Saturday, getting goals from Tyler Renaghan, Chad Arney and Kevin Huffman. Gunn posted a pair of road shutouts last week to remain undefeated in the SCVAL El Camino Division. The Titans (3-0-1, 4-2-2 overall) beat Santa Clara 2-0 Jan. 5 and edged Cupertino 1-0 Thursday. Edward Cramner-Brown and Tom Allen recorded goals against Santa Clara, while Los Altos Hills resident Colt Cannon was credited with an assist. Allen tallied the game-winner against Cupertino, assisted by Cramner-Brown. Homestead (3-0-1, 8-4-1) remained at the top of the SCVAL De Anza Division last week by posting road wins at Monta Vista and Saratoga. The Mustangs silenced Monta Vista 2-0 Jan. 5, thanks largely to the duo of Eric Wilson (two goals) and Omar Gusmao (two assists). On Thursday Homestead beat Saratoga 4-2, as four players contributed goals. Homestead went to 4-0 in the SCVAL El Camino Division last week with home wins against Santa Clara and Cupertino. Homestead (10-0-1 overall) beat Santa Clara 4-1 Jan. 5 in a game in which Tatiana Gusmao scored twice. The Mustangs blanked Cupertino 2-0 Thursday on goals by Gusmao and Tiffany Colen. After routing Saratoga 5-1 and Los Altos 7-0 earlier in the week, St. Francis tied Los Gatos 2-2 Saturday in SCVAL De Anza Division play. The Lancers (4-0-1, 8-1-3) received goals from Kristi Candau and Susan Clark against host Los Gatos. Mountain View (0-3-2, 2-4-2) dropped a 1-0 De Anza Division game to visiting Milpitas last Thursday, then tied host Saratoga 1-1 Saturday behind a goal by Ellie Loomis. |
