The Owls edged College of the Redwoods 75-74 Friday on a three-pointer by Reggie Cooks with one second left. Tyler McClenahan scored 21 points to lead Foothill. A day later, the Owls beat College of the Siskiyous 82-73 to improve their overall record to 10-9. McClenahan again led the way, scoring 21 points and draining six three-pointers. O.J. Longmire and Randal Powell added 15 points apiece. "We played pretty well," said Foothill coach Todd Petersen. "We got behind 14-1, but then the ball started dropping and we made some stops." The Owls begin Coast Conference play by hosting Chabot at 7:30 p.m., Friday. Foothill split its first two Coast Conference games last week, a fact coach Jody Craig isn't exactly thrilled about. The Owls cruised by host Cabrillo 72-37 Jan. 6, as Ekuah Ramsey scored 17 points. Jennifer Tsang added 11 points and Sheree taft had 10. Friday's home game against Ohlone should have been another double-digit win for Foothill, according to Craig. Instead, the coach said her team played "real casual," which resulted in a 70-66 loss. Our kids weren't ready to play," Craig said. "I couldn't find one positive thing to tell them after the game." The Owls' top scorers were Ramsey and Tsang (13 each). Foothill (10-9 overall) plays at De Anza at 7 p.m., tonight. |
