The Los Altos Library will present a book discussion series on contemporary fiction at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, February through April. Everyone is welcome; no registration is necessary. Participants are asked to read the book before the meeting.

The featured books are:

Feb. 10, "Ladder of Years," by Anne Tyler;

March 10, "Crossing to Safety," by Wallace Stegner;

April 14, "Snow in August," by Pete Hamil.

If participants are interested in subsequently forming an evening book discussion group, the library will provide initial assistance. The group would be led by members.
