Refreshments will be served by Chef Chu's. The meeting will be a review of activities with the sister cities of Bendigo, Australia; Syktyvkar, Russia; and Shih Lin, Taiwan; and feature discussion of plans for 1999. History House presents 'Music & Memories' "Music & Memories," a collection of oral history readings with period music, will be presented from 2-3 p.m., Feb. 20, at the Los Altos History House Museum. Music by Paul Price will include 1926 Victor recordings of the Stanford Marching Band. Admission is free. The History House is located in the Los Altos Civic Center area at 51 S. Children's performer holds benefit concert Children's performer Charlotte Diamond is returning for her 13th year to perform local concerts benefiting the Music For Minors program. Her concerts will be at 1:30 and 4 p.m., Feb. 6 and 7, at Spangenberg Auditorium, Gunn High School, Palo Alto. Founded in Los Altos in 1975, Music for Minors trains docents who volunteer their time to teach classroom music to elementary school children. Tickets for the concert are $9. There is a group rate of $8 a ticket for groups of 12 or more. Tickets are available at Linden Tree Children's Records and Books, 170 State St., Los Altos. For more information, call 941-9130. New art exhibit in Los Altos Hills Los Altos Hills announces that a new exhibit featuring local artists will be on display in the Los Altos Hills Council Chambers from 8 a.m. to noon and from 2-4 p.m. until March 31. Gloria Shiff will be displaying sculpture. Aris Balmori will be displaying ink paintings. The chambers are located at 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills. Shiff, an artist for more than 35 years, works from her Los Altos Hills studio. When she moved to California 20 years ago, she worked at San Jose State. Recently she won an award for her work with Venetian glass. Balmori admires Zen-like calligraphy and graphics and is conscious of the impact of black ink combined with grays. For more information, call 941-7222. History House seeks volunteers The History House seeks volunteer docents who can work one day per month on Wednesday or Saturday afternoon. Planning is under way to open the museum house on Sunday. Training will begin March 17. The History House is located in the Los Altos Civic Center at 51 S. San Antonio Road, behind the main library building. For information, call 948-9427. Daughters hold workshop The Daughters of the American Revolution are conducting a research workshop on Feb. 3. The group encourages guests to attend the workshop and find their early American ancestors. Additional workshops will be held the first Wednesday of every month on March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 2. Glen Cole will be guest speaker at Foothill Christian Center, Los Altos, in the worship service at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 7, and will officiate at the installation of the Rev. Doug Hampton as pastor.
