Bike rides for seniors The Bicycle Outfitter sponsors free bike rides for seniors at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday. Rides start at the shop, 963 Fremont Ave., Los Altos. Seniors of all ages and riding levels are welcome. Non-seniors can came along for the ride as well. Rides last for about two hours. For more information, call 948-8092. Special volunteers The Santa Clara County Special Olympics is seeking volunteer coaches for basketball, track and field, golf and other sports. There's also a need for people to coordinate awards at the competitions. There will be a new volunteer orientation at 7 p.m., Feb. 9 at the Special Olympics office, 5730 Chambertin Drive, San Jose.
