One year later, Earl, a graduate of Stanford University, moved to this area and opened his medical offices. Ruth Anderson , now 96, lives in the same house that her she and her husband built. Sports On The Side

The United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues (USISL), which the local Silicon Valley Ambassadors are a part of, has changed its name. The organization is now called the United Soccer Leagues. Commissioner Francisco Marcos, who founded the USISL in 1986, said the new name reflects the growth of the league. It started as a five-team indoor league in the Southwest and now has 135 teams in 41 states. The Ambassadors, a men's minor league team that plays at Foothill College, opens its second season this spring.
