More Cal-Hi honors

Los Altos High football standout Pete Bjorklund has been recognized by Cal-Hi Sports, a publication focusing on California high school athletics. Bjorklund, a senior, was recently named all-state medium schools defense for his play on the defensive line this past season.

Basketball sign-ups

Off the Glass Basketball is forming Club and Elite AAU teams for spring and summer tournaments. There are roster spots available for boys, ages 11-14, and girls, ages 12-17. Playoffs set for Sac

The ARCO Arena in Sacramento will be the host site for this year's CIF State Basketball Championships, slated for March 19 and 20. ARCO will also host the Northern Regional finals, along with Delta College in Sacramento, March 13. Eighty high school teams will advance to the state playoffs, with brackets consisting of eight teams in five divisions for both boys and girls. Seeding will take place March 7.

Soccer tryouts

The Mountain View-Los Altos Magic and Magic No. 2, a pair of CYSA boys soccer teams, are looking for dedicated players born between Aug. 1, 1987 and July 31, 1989. Tryouts will be held this Saturday and Feb. 20. For times, location and more information, call Mike at 599-2295.
