Tracy Cheung of Los Altos was among the 10 Menlo School seniors to be named National Merit Scholarship finalists. Only about 14,000 - a fraction of a percent- of all United States graduating seniors were selected nationwide.

Of these students, approximately 7,600 students will actually receive scholarships this spring.

Sarah J. Mills, daughter of Jennifer and Lance Mills of Los Altos Hills, was recently named to the dean's list at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for the fall semester. Only students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above are placed on the dean's list. Mills earned a 3.8 grade point average.

Mills is a 1998 graduate of Gunn High School in Palo Alto.

She is majoring in aeronautical engineering.
