Two local wrestlers competed at the state meet in Stockton last weekend, but neither competitor lasted very long. Los Altos High junior Cesar Valle lost both his matches at 127 pounds, while St. Francis High senior John Adams suffered the same fate at 215 pounds. Valle was pinned by eventual runner-up Paul Gross of Nevada Union in the first round and then dropped a 7-3 decision to Lowell's Donald Lockett. Adams was pinned by Luke Hartwig of Del Norte in the opening round and had to default his second match because of a knee injury.
