Reeder good choice for hospital board

Former Los Altos council member and mayor Dave Reeder has been named to fill the fifth seat on the El Camino Hospital District Board of Directors. Good choice.

County Supervisor Joe Simitian selected Reeder from among 10 applicants, including four Los Altos residents. In Reeder, Simitian realized his goal of selecting someone whose skills would complement those of the current board members. The board comprises three physicians and one health care professional.

Reeder, a program manager at Lockheed Martin Global Communications, brings business savvy along with knowledge of health care issues through his work with the Community Health Awareness Council. Moreover, his two terms on the Los Altos council provide for needed understanding of community issues.

"Dave is proven, thoughtful and solid," Simitian said.
