Town Crier Staff Report

Mark your calendar to meet the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m., March 27, and go Easter egg hunting along Main and State streets in downtown Los Altos.

The annual Easter event, sponsored by the Los Altos Village Association, also includes such activities as bunny ear hat-making, face painting and a special appearance by the Happy Birds, a performing parrot show.

Children will have the opportunity to hunt for thousands of eggs filled with candy and gift certificates. Children aged 1-6 look along Main Street, while children aged 7-10 search along State Street.

The Happy Birds are a group of five specially trained parrots. They include large colorful macaws, clever white cockatoos and a green Amazon.

Ed and Julie Cardoza have been performing with their birds since 1989 and have performed on "America's Funniest Home Videos." Children will have an opportunity to meet the parrots and their handlers before and after the egg hunt.

In addition, animals from Furry Friends Rescue will be available for adoption at 9:30 a.m.
