Swimming
The St. Francis girls swim team routed host Los Altos 120-66 last Friday in an SCVAL De Anza Division meet.
The Lancers (1-1 division, 2-1 overall) were led by juniors Brooke Winkler and Tiffany O'Farriell.
Winkler won the 200 individual medley (2:15.66) and 500 freestyle (5:22.71) and was a member of the victorious 400 free relay team (4:03.03).
O'Farriell captured the 100 butterfly (1:03.34) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.22) and was on the winning 200 medley relay team (2:02.57).
Los Altos took first in just one event, as Sarah Kasper won the 100 breaststroke (1:16.65).
Badminton
The Mountain View High badminton team came out swinging in its first two SCVAL El Camino Division matches, routing both Cupertino and Fremont.
The Spartans disposed of host Cupertino 41-24 March 16 and whipped visiting Fremont 60-2 last Thursday.
No. 1 girls player Wen-Ai Yu won both days, as did the top doubles teams of Seth Greenstein-Dat Tran (boys) and Fu Ping Ging-Kathy Kwong (girls).
Golf
The St. Francis golf team disposed of host Riordan 190-237 March 18 at Harding Park.
The Lancers' top finishers were Jon Berghoff and John Colyar, who each shot a 36.
St. Francis entered this week with a 4-1 mark in the West Catholic Athletic League.
Boys volleyball

The St. Francis High softball team eked out a 6-5 home win over Los Altos last Thursday in the SCVAL De Anza Division opener for both squads.
St. Francis pitcher Cory Montalbano earned the win, going to 7-2 on the season.
The Lancers (8-2 overall) scored all six of their runs in the initial two innings. Their leading hitters were Lauren Wong (three hits), Lindsay Meek (two hits) and Tess Nesbitt (triple).
Los Altos (2-5 overall) received three hits from Lisa Gass and two from Samantha Quintero. The Eagles recorded seven hits in all.
In other local softball action, Santa Clara shutout visiting Gunn 11-0 last Thursday. The Titans were out-hit 11-2.
The Pinewood School boys volleyball team dropped to 0-3 in the Private Schools Athletic League last Friday with a 15-11, 12-15, 12-15, 15-4, 15-8 loss to visiting Menlo.
The Panthers went to 0-5 overall.
