Saturday: 9:30 a.m., senior center board of directors meeting. The new members elected in February are: Ruth Koehler, Ken Haukom and Guy Cutler. April 16: Noon, Friday luncheon featuring ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli and cake. Cost is $4 with an activity card, $6 without. Bingo will follow. April 23: 1 p.m., Los Altos councilman King Lear will talk about potential interest in building a bocci ball court at the senior center. April 27: Noon, Senior Coordinating Council meets in Room A, at Hillview Community Center. Diane Strachowski will speak on "Sadness and Your Heart: How to Know and What to Do." Strachowski, a licensed psychologist, will discuss the impact of sadness on the heart and your health. April 30: 1 p.m., birthday bingo celebration, in which April birthdays will be honored with cake, ice cream, music and bingo. Note: Seniors can make an appointment to receive assistance with their 1998 income taxes through April 12 at the Los Altos Senior Center. Counselors will be available 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays. For an appointment, call 948-7483. Bingo will be played on new dates. They are the first and third Monday starting at 1 p.m. Three cards are a $1 donation. Get the rules from the center. Mountain View Senior Center The Los Altos Senior Center is located in the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave., in Los Altos. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 948-7483. Sunday: 2 p.m., Sunday movie, "The Perfect Murder," starring Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow. Admission is 50 cents, with refreshments. Tuesday: 11:15 a.m., newcomers group orientation and tour of the senior center with an overview of classes and upcoming events. April 18: 2 p.m., line dancing. No partner? No problem, you don't need one for line dancing. Rosa Perna will emcee the event. Admission is $1, including refreshments. April 25: 2 p.m., Hawaiian dance performance. See the Hula performed by the Aloha Nani Hula Dancers with "The Dancing Grandmas" from Santa Clara. Admission is $1, with hot coffee, tea cookies and Hawaiian punch. Note: "55-Alive Mature Driving" class will be offered on from 1-5 p.m., Sundays, April 11 and 18, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, April 13 and 15. Class consists of two four-hour classes.
