To help celebrate National Library Week, 3M is sponsoring the third annual Check-it-Out Yourself Day at the library next Monday. With patrons' help, Los Altos Library could win up to $2,500 for its book fund.

All patrons have to do is come into the Los Altos Library anytime it's open on Monday (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and check out some books or magazines on the 3M SelfCheck System. Machines are available in the children's and adults' area. If at least 100 people use the checkout machines, the library will qualify for a chance to win a $2,500 or $1,000 cash award.

Los Altos Library won $1,000 in 1997. For more information, call 948-7683 ext. 3539.
