This event has two main purposes, organizers say - to record the community for historical purposes and to create an artistic document that expresses the vitality of the community. The event takes place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., on June 5. Participating artists must include one or more of the 428 commercial and public buildings in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills in their artwork. "Paint the Town," an event sponsored by the Town Crier, promises to be lively and fun for artists and the public. Artists wishing to participate in this event must be registered by April 30. To register, call Gail Vanderberg at the Town Crier, 948-9000. Los Altos and Los Altos Hills artists also will be busy this weekend for the 13th annual self-guided "Open Studios of South Bay Artists" tour.
