The Community School of Music & Arts will present its annual benefit for arts education from 6-10 p.m., April 30, at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel, 4290 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. All proceeds from the event, "Celebrating 30 Years with a Song in Our Arts!" will benefit the school's financial aid program, which provides student scholarships and tuition assistance.

CSMA's 30th anniversary celebration will include musical performances and an art exhibit by students and faculty; a gourmet dinner; and silent and live auctions featuring more than 100 items.

Bill Liberatore will serve as master of ceremonies. Liberatore is Gunn High School choral director, pianist, and conductor of the American Musical Theater of San Jose.

The featured performer at the event will be teen jazz sensation Taylor Eigsti, 14. Taylor, who has been playing the piano, performing, and composing since 3, has studied jazz piano at the Community School of Music & Arts for the past seven years.

His most recent performances include playing with David Benoit and the San Jose Symphony, and appearing with Dave Brubeck at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

Taylor lives in Menlo Park and is a freshman at Woodside Priory School.

Penny Brunello of Los Altos and Anita Nichols of Mountain View are the event's co-chairwomen.

"Attendees at the event can expect to hear truly outstanding musical performances by talented students and faculty and see wonderful art," Brunello said. "We expect this year's benefit in honor of CSMA's 30th anniversary year to be our largest gathering ever."

Tickets for the event are $85 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 961-0342, ext. 311.
