The Los Altos Library is holding a thank-you reception for volunteers who provide daily help, from 10 a.m. to noon today.

Volunteers of all ages perform many jobs at the Los Altos and Woodland libraries. Adults do clerical work, such as covering or cleaning books. Teens prepare packets for new library-card holders. Internet docents give two-hour introductory lessons. Out-reach volunteers deliver library materials to shut-ins.

In the past year volunteers have worked 8,400 hours for the library. To become a volunteer, pick up an application in the library. For more information, call 948-7683 ext. 3539.
