The Los Altos School District is offering a variety of learning opportunities and challenges through its annual summer classes, which are scheduled to run from June 21 to July 16. Below is a list of programs:

Primary classes

Grade level: Students entering grades 2-4 this fall.

Classes: Extending Mathematics, Creative Dramatics, Introduction to Horticulture, Song and Dance, German Introduction, Tech Exploration and Visual Arts.

Time and Date: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 21 to July 16. Closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day.

Place: Almond School, 550 Almond Ave.

Registration: Advance mail; deadline May 3.

Intermediate classes

Grade level: Students entering grades 5-7 this fall.

Classes: Robotics, Master Chefs, Arts and Crafts, Insects, You Be the Judge, Drama/Theater, Architectural Design and Jazz Band.

Time and date: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 21 to July 16. closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day.

Place: Blach Junior High School, 1120 Covington Road.

Registration: May 1 at the school site. Numbered registration tickets will be given out beginning at 7:30 a.m., and registrations will be accepted in that order until noon. Registration for specific courses is on a first-come, first-served basis.

To defray costs, the district requests a $100 donation from parents whose students will attend summer school. Summer programs are only partially supported by state school funds.
