Wei Huang of Mountain View recently earned a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University. Huang was among 725 students who completed their degrees in December, 1998.

Scott Six, a 1996 graduate of

Los Altos High School was recently the tenar lead in the opera "Arabella" at Indiana University. He was also named to the dean's list for having a grade point average above 3.5.

Patrick Quaid, son of Richard and Karen Quaid of Mountain View, recently received a Sorenson Family Scholarship of $1,250 for the

current year at Luther College in Iowa. The scholarship is awarded to senior students on the basis of academic achievement and Christian commitment. Quaid is studying psychology.

Regina Wakerly, daughter of John and Kate Wakerly of Mountain View, was recently named to the dean's list at the University of Notre Dame.

Anneliese V. Lodge, a 1990 graduate of Los Altos High School, will be pursuing a master's degree in journalsim at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalsim this fall. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Calfiornai at Berkeley in 1994.

Lodge is the daughter of Nelson and Monica Lodge of Los Altos. She currently resides in New York City and works for the interactive division of Time Warner.

The following Los Altos High School students recently qualified as National Merit Scholarship Finaists: Andrew Hill, Samuel Jeng, David Kapaln, Omid Karkouti, Eva Kaye, Elizabeth Miller, Paul Ruvolo, Aaron Staple, Ognen Stojanovski, Danny Vorhaus and Emily Wildanger.

Egan Intermediate School teachers Marjorie Gray, Jeanette Keon and Shannon McLaughlin were among the 20,000 science teachers and educational leaders to attend the National Science Teachers Association National Convention recently, where astronaut John Glenn and Richard Riley spoke.

Kousuke Anan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Taiken Anan of Los Altos, made the dean's list at Wahsington University in St. Louis recently for his academic achievement during fall 1998. Anan is a graduate of Homestead High School.
