David Brazer, Los Altos High School principal, announced his resignation this week. He will leave his nine-year post as principal at the high school for an assistant teaching position in the graduate program for educational administration at George Mason University in Fairfax,Va.

"I have thought for a long time that I would like to teach at a university level. I enjoy teaching very much," Brazer said. "This fits my interests. I welcome the opportunity to research and write."

Brazer said "it all happened very quickly."

He applied for the teaching position April 15 and accepted the school's offer April 21.

Brazer is a graduate of Stanford University. He is married with three children. He and his wife are expecting their fourth child this summer.

Brazer said he will remain at Los Altos High School through June 30.
