Tee it up

The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce will hosts its 14th annual golf tournament at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Shoreline Golf Links. The $120 entry fee includes lunch and dinner, a cart and a chance to win a 1999 convertible BMW, Nissan Pathfinder or a golf vacation to Europe. Into the hall

Mountain View resident Kate Latham was among five players inducted into the Northern California Tennis Hall of Fame April 10 during a dinner at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. Latham had an 11-year pro career and then played the USTA national 35s tournament, where she won 25 singles and doubles titles.

Local bike rides

The Bicycle Outfitter, 963 Fremont Ave., Los Altos, holds free local bike rides Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Rides start behind the store. Helmets are mandatory, and riders of all levels are welcome. A parent release is required for those under 18. For more information, call 948-8092.

A special event

The Santa Clara County Special Olympics' annual track and field meet will be held May 15, and chaperones are needed. An orientation is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday at the main office, 5730 Chambertin Dr., San Jose. For more information, call (408) 267-2734.

A call for Cobras

The Cobras, a Palo Alto Soccer Club under-14 boys team, is looking for players to round out their fall team. Players must be born after Aug. 1, 1985. For more information, call Michael Pfyl at 497-3676.
