The St. Francis girls placed sixth at the NorCal Golf Championships, held May 24 at the Richmond Country Club.

The Lancers finished with a team score of 295.

Another St. Francis team, this one from Sacramento, won the tournament with a 250.

Individually, the Lancers were led by sophomore Linda Baek, who finished 24th with a score of 90.

Teammate Michelle Jensen tied for 28th by shooting a 94, while fellow Lancers Christine Costello and Alexis Hyman tied for 39th with identical scores of 111.

St. Francis qualified for the NorCal competition by winning the Central Coast Section tournament the week before.

The only local boy to qualify for the NorCal event was Mountain View's Philip Plum.

Plum, a senior, shot an 82 to place 23rd.
