The first of the second annual Art and Antiques Nights is scheduled for June 17 from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. at 10 different downtown art galleries and antique shops. The evening will be hosted by the Los Altos Village Association and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.

"This year's event offers many new demonstrations and opportunities to meet local artists," said Jean Warren, chairwoman of the Art & Antiques night. "The event debuted last year and we are confident this year's line-up will build on last year's success. The event is geared to be a fun time and expose art to children."

Each gallery and shop participating in the event will be marked with yellow balloons. Refreshments will be available at various locations.

Visitors to the ZYT Gallerie at 923 N. San Antonio Road will have the opportunity to meet nationally-known seascape and landscape artist Alexander Dzigurski II, who will demonstrate oil painting.

Michael Buscemi, a new contemporary figurative artist, will display some of his most popular works in vivid colors at Fastframe, located at 371 State St. Other demonstrations include oil painting and clay sculpture at Sunbird Gallery, 333 First St.; hand papermaking at William Marcus, 390 State St.; and making jewelry with Tove Norlander at Gallery 9, 143 Main St.

For the children, there will be demonstrations on how to paint faces at Linden Tree Children's Records and Books, 179 State St., and sand-and-art pictures at Lin's Toy Cupboard, 237-A State St.

Art and Antiques Nights are also scheduled for July 15 and Aug. 19.
