Teen summer reading has started at the Los Altos and Woodland libraries. Teens who read five or more books and write a review will earn a $5 gift certificate from Tower Books. Sign-ups began Monday at both libraries.

Gilles Poitras, author of "The Anime Companion: What's Japanese in Japanese Animation?" will speak at 10:30 a.m., July 24 at Los Altos Library. Pointras will illustrate his talk with videos.

The Friends of the Library provide funds for summer programs and prizes.
