Open eyes about Serbian 'genocide'

What side of history will you be on? Will you willingly follow our leaders as they commit genocide of the Serbian people, or will you have the courage to stand up and speak out about these atrocities?

The cowards of NATO have systematically been targeting civilian populations and their means for living. They call it collateral damage. I call them human beings.

They are mothers giving birth, newborns, seniors in retirement homes, hospitals, a 3-year- old girl named Milica in her bathroom getting ready for bed, residential areas, even the refugees we claim we are there to protect. The numbers of civilian deaths are climbing into the thousands.

I will not defend the Yugoslav military. Yugoslavia has been dealing with the KLA terrorists, not freedom fighters, for more than a decade. The KLA is responsible for ethically cleansing Serbians out of Kosovo using the same tactics of raping young girls and murdering young men that we claim we abhor.

It is not our place to get involved in their civil war or any civil war. In doing so, we are violating the NATO charter, the UN charter the Geneva Conference and most importantly our Constitution. Kosovo is a part of Yugoslavia just as California is a part of the United States. Yugoslavia had no choice but to stand up to NATO to defend its sovereign territory from the cowardly air war launched from 15,000 feet.

Their infrastructure is gone, too many babies have been killed. Yugoslavia has capitulated to NATO's demands, but this is a Catch-22. NATO will not stop bombing Serbian civilians until Yugoslavia withdraws all of its troops from Kosovo, but when the Yugoslav troops begin to withdraw, they are bombed by NATO and attacked by the KLA. Last night hundreds of retreating Yugoslav soldiers were killed by NATO. This can only be described as blood lust. We need to open our eyes.

The war crimes are being committed by NATO. We need to speak out now and let our elected officials know we will not tolerate these crime against humanity any longer.

If you will not speak up for the Serbian people, ask yourself who will speak up for us? I know which side of history I will be on. Which side will you be on?

What was that about property rights, Steve?

At the June 3 Los Altos Hills City Council meeting, council member Steve Finn developed a severe case of foot-in-mouth disease in a discussion with council member Bill Siegel over preserving a neighbor's view when it was threatened by a new property development and stated, "I don't think a neighbor has as much property rights as you think they do, Bill."

The planning commission, whose function Finn and council member Toni Casey wish to diminish, is the agency which is able to protect neighborhoods in Los Altos Hills from reckless and thoughtless development.

It provides a means for the neighbors to be heard when new development is proposed, to negotiate amicable agreements among neighbors, and has the responsibility of preserving the integrity and ambiance of our neighborhoods.

Mr. Finn spoke often and vigorously about his sweeping mandate of 62 votes, and that reduced property rights of those in proximity to new development was what the last council election was all about.

His statement quoted above is in the same vein as the railroad baron, Cornelious Vanderbilt, with his "The public be damned" statement in the 19th century. A lot of people who voted for him and Toni Casey because of their slick and expensive campaign must be regretting the way they cast their ballots. They appear to be on the side of unbridled development which will change and diminish our unique rural environment in Los Altos Hills.

Can you live with a clear conscience?

This is to the man with a white four-door BMW who was parked - talking on his cell phone - in front of Long's Drug store at El Camino and San Antonio June 11 at 11 a.m.

I hope you vented some of your anger when you "keyed" my silver 560SL Mercedes the length of the car because I accidentally bumped your back fender with my car door. Such "road rage" is a danger to both the drivers and pedestrians of our community. Can you live with a clear conscience?

Left-wing propaganda will be exposed

When will those in the media finally admit they are biased toward liberals and liberal causes? That the so-called "objective news media" have a decidedly liberal agenda?

I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing the likes of Dan Rather moan about how "objective" and "fair" he and his fellow reporters are.

This is nonsense. And the media know this is nonsense.

Can you imagine what the media would be doing if Ron and Nancy Reagan had invested in Whitewater? Orchestrated a Travelgate scandal? Repeatedly lied to the public about everything under the sun?

Both would have been sent packing home - or to jail.

But not Bill Clinton. He gets away with one lie and scandal after another - over and over and over again.

In short, no matter how deep in the mud Clinton goes, the leftist media continue to portray him as a white knight riding his chariot out of Washington to save America and the world.

Worse still, it is clear that the likes of Dan Rather plan on destroying the conservative movement and its leaders in the 106th Congress and on the presidential campaign trail.

This time I predict the American people will reject this media effort for what it is - a left-wing propaganda campaign.
