Following up on last year's Veterans Memorial celebration, the new Citizens for a Glorious 4th organization invites residents to join in this Fourth of July for another patriotic celebration beginning at noon at Shoup Park.

The park is located at 400 University Ave., Los Altos.

The event is scheduled to last until 1 p.m., at which time families will be able to participate in leisurely family picnics (bring your own food).

David Casas, the chairman of the Citizens for a Glorious 4th, will head off the celebration by acting as master of ceremonies.

The rest of the hour-long event includes ongoing music supplied by the U. S. Air Force Band, the U. S. Military Color Guard's Presentation of Colors, and an invocation led by retired U. S. Navy Captain George Wright.

Richard T. Burress, Senior Fellow Emeritus from the Hoover Institution, will also speak.

Those who want special seating or parking arrangements should contact the Citizens for a Glorious 4th by today.
