The new budget allocates resources to health care, children's services, social services, and road maintenance in Los Altos and Mountain View. In addition, supervisors allocated $60,000 in the budget for an obstetrics doctor at the MayView Community Health Center Clinics in Palo Alto and Mountain View. Funding was set aside for a Director of Children's Services to oversee disparate efforts for children's programs in the county. Also, $98,392 was set aside for the Healthy Venture's School-Child Health Project, which provides health and school service programs to children in Los Altos and Mountain View schools. El Camino Hospital will match the county's grant. The county will contribute funding to the Truancy Abatement Collaborative's countywide computer database for attendance. The Community Services Agency of Mountain View and Los Altos will receive $31,317 for its Alpha Omega Shelter, Comprehensive Emergency Assistance, and Senior Case Management programs. The budget provides $30,000 to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help the Mountain View and Los Altos day-worker program. The program has been offered to connect employers with job seekers, while alleviating loitering along street corners. Also included in the budget were road resurfacing projects on Winding Way, Spalding Avenue and Par Avenue, as well as other neighborhood road repairs in unincorporated Los Altos. |
