Club Mirage license questioned

The Los Altos City Council decided June 22 to initiate the process to revoke the conditional-use permit of Club Mirage, located at 4926 El Camino Real.

The Los Altos Police Department asked the City Council to revoke the permit because Club Mirage is violating Los Altos Municipal Code, California Business and Professions Code, and its Alcohol Beverage Control license. Club Mirage filed in 1997 for its conditional-use permit as a restaurant. However, police observed that it operates exclusively as a nightclub.

The City Council referred the matter to the Planning Commission, which will hold a public hearing and allow community members to state their views. The Planning Commission will determine whether Club Mirage is in violation status.
