Kelly Ren Hayashi and Colin Lawrence Ryono of Los Altos graduated May 2 from Lewis & Clark College. Hayashi earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropolgy. Ryono earned a bachelor's degree in English. Mariah Lee Hammonds of Los Altos received her bachelor's degree in economics and psychology May 15 from Southern Methodist University in Texas. Christian Douglas Jinkerson, son of Mr. Guyton Jinkerson and Dr. Judith B. Henderson of Los Altos Hills, received his bachelor's degree in philosophy May 16 from Pomona College. Dean's list/awards Los Altos resident Sheila Kramer was among the 461 students named to the Gonzaga University president's list during fall semester 1998 for earning a grade point average of 3.7 or higher. The Los Altos Masonic Lodge awarded Mike J. Friedman a $1,000 scholarship May 25 during the Senior Recognition Night at Los Altos High School. Friedman plans to study elementary education at the University of California, San Diego. The scholarship is awarded to students who show outstanding high school performance and who plan to study education. Sarah Mills, the daughter of Lance and Jennifer Mills of Los Altos Hills, was recently named to the 1999 spring semester dean's list at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Mills is a 1997 graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School. She is studying aerospace engineering. |
