All-Star offering

Youth groups interested in attending the Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game as guests of local merchants and Rotarians must submit their requests by Monday. The game, set for 7:30 p.m., July 23 at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, features the county's top high school football players from the class of 1999. Players from Los Altos, Mountain View, St. Francis, Homestead and Gunn highs are scheduled to participate. For ticket requests and more information, call (408) 445-9102.

Get in the swing

The 10th Annual Second Harvest Food Bank Golf Tournament is set for Monday at Stanford University Golf Course. Individual players can reserve a spot for $250. Golfing fees go toward helping those in need in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the tournament tees off at noon. Here comes the rein

Hundreds of the top horses and riders on the West Coast are scheduled to take part in Reining by the Bay, a horse reining competition to be held this weekend at the Horse Park at Woodside.
